Accessibility Statement

What we are aiming for
We want whetzelco.com to be usable by everyone, including people who navigate with a keyboard, use a screen reader, need larger text, or rely on high-contrast settings. We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Where we actually stand
We audited this site in August 2026 and found real problems. Rather than claim conformance we have not earned, here is what we found and what we did:
Fixed
- Site navigation was unreachable on phones and tablets — there was no menu button. There is one now.
- Body text on one section background sat at a contrast ratio of 2.1:1, well below the 4.5:1 minimum. Small labels across the site sat at 3.25:1. Both were darkened to pass.
- The site had no visible keyboard focus indicator anywhere, and form fields actively removed the browser’s default. Every link, button, and field now shows a clear outline when focused.
- Several image descriptions were malformed, which caused screen readers to announce fragments of markup. They were rewritten.
- The phone number in the header and the links in the footer were smaller than the 24-pixel minimum target size. They were enlarged.
Known remaining issues
- Form fields are validated by the browser rather than with inline messages, and errors are not announced to screen readers on submission.
- The service dropdown menus use ARIA menu roles without full arrow-key support.
- Our scheduling tool and live chat are third-party embeds whose accessibility we do not control.
We are working through these.
If something does not work for you
Tell us and we will fix it, and in the meantime we will get you the information another way. There is no form to fill out:
Email tim@whetzelco.com
Call (832) 594-0339
We aim to respond within two business days. If you tell us what page you were on and what happened, that helps, but it is not required.
Getting our services another way
Everything on this website is available by phone or email. If the site is a barrier for you, call and we will walk through whatever you need — a consultation, a document, a question about a deadline — the same as if you had used the site.
